Once at dinner, a friend told me about a list that Bill Hader made of 200 movies every comedy writer should see. No where near Bill’s, my list below is by no means a cohesive collection for any craft study or budding comedian. It’s just a list of films I’ve enjoyed, movies that in some way probably shaped who I am, and dare I say it- rent from iTunes if I couldn’t find it on Netflix.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Honestly, props to Bill for making such a long list and even SEEING 200 movies. I can only imagine the amount he watched that didn’t make it on the list. and even more that weren’t even comedies. bill hader has had to have watched at least 600 movies in order to make that one list. I haven’t experienced 200 of anything. I mean, maybe grains of rice in a bibimbap, but I truly can’t think of anything else.
